With APEC descending on Sydney and security measures locking parts of the city down, and the promise by some of violent protests, I really struggle to understand the mindset of some people. Violent protesters in some countries would be dealt with severely and disappear - here it seems to be seen by some as heroic - almost like recreating Ned Kelly. But with the officers of the law who are safeguarding the innocent prevented from being able to employ the same means of dealing with them as was acceptable against ol' Ned.
That's stupid.
Violent protests serve nothing but to show that the protesters are exactly the sort of people that our society would be better without.

Violent protests are a form of terrorists.
I hope that any violent protesters are treated as terrorists.
I don't want to suffer for their cause, even if they want me to.
